Law of inertia (1st law)
- Every object in a state of rest or uniform motion remains in that state unless an external force is applied Uniform Motion: - motion that takes the same form, manner,or degree throughout the body 2nd Law -the rate of change of momentum of an object is directly proportional to the resultant force acting on it. - Represented as F=ma - describes motion created by unbalanced forces - mass and acceleration change in opposite ways - the more mass an object has, the more force it takes to accelerate the object, the slower it accelerates - the less mass an object has, the less it takes to accelerate the object, the faster it accelerates. |
3rd Law (action/reaction)
- for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. |
